There's no excuse for killing and kidnpapping innocent civilians on either side bc Israel does it too - however, Israel is an apartheid state. I understand the frustration: the blockade of Gaza is cruel. This attack was the result of decades of oppression. I don't agree with Hamas's methods though - violence only begets more violence - and think that strategically, this will only help Netanyahu during a time when despots all over the world must be opposed. It's a very dangerous and sad situation.
